Cookies and similar technologies in use across the platform

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website or use an application. They help sites function, remember preferences, and understand how they are used. Similar technologies (for example, local storage and authentication tokens) are used by our Beach Club application and are covered by this policy.

2. One Policy for Our Website and App

This Cookies Policy covers both www.veterinaryvista.com and beachclub.veterinaryvista.com, since they form a single service accessed through one account. Where a cookie is specific to one domain rather than the other, this is noted in the tables below.

3. How We Use Cookies

(a) Strictly necessary
Required for the Platform to function, including: keeping you logged in and remembering your session; passing the secure single sign-on token between www.veterinaryvista.com and beachclub.veterinaryvista.com so you do not have to log in twice; recording your cookie-consent choices; and basic caching and security. These cannot be switched off, as the Platform will not work correctly without them.

(b) Analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the Platform is used, for example which factsheets or courses are popular, so we can improve it. Analytics cookies only load after you consent via our cookie banner — they do not fire for visitors who have not consented or who have declined.

(c) Third-party and payment
Cookies set by Lemon Squeezy (and, within its checkout, Stripe and/or PayPal) during checkout to process your subscription securely.

(d) Marketing
We do not currently use any marketing or advertising cookies.

5. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are set by third parties when you use the Platform, including our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy, which itself uses Stripe and offers PayPal at checkout) and Google (Analytics). These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to review.

6. Managing Cookies

On first visiting the Platform, you will be shown a cookie banner allowing you to accept or reject non-essential cookies (currently, analytics), in line with UK PECR and EU ePrivacy requirements. You can change your preferences at any time via the cookies banner accessible from all pages of the main website at www.veterinaryvista.com. This banner appears as a small floating tab in the bottom left corner.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies, such as the single sign-on and session cookies, will prevent you from logging in or using paywalled features correctly.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies and technologies we use. We will post the updated version with a revised "last updated" date.
