Terms and Conditions
Governing Use of www.veterinaryvista.com and beachclub.veterinaryvista.com
1. Introduction and Who We Are
Veterinary Vista Ltd ("Veterinary Vista", "we", "us", "our") is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16651774. Our registered office is at The Old Granary, The Slade, Witcham, Ely, England, CB6 2LA. We operate the website www.veterinaryvista.com and the associated application at beachclub.veterinaryvista.com (together, the "Platform"), an online veterinary education resource for veterinary students, nurses, technicians and related professionals (the "Services").
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Platform, including free content, paid subscriptions, courses, factsheets, quizzes, and interactive features such as Vista Village and the Vista Shop. By creating an account, accessing a keycode-protected area, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to be bound by these Terms, including the disclaimers in Sections 13 and 14.If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
2. Eligibility
The Platform is intended for use by individuals aged 18 or over. By using the Platform you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
The Platform is intended for veterinary students, veterinary nurses/technicians, and related professionals and is provided for educational purposes only (see Section 13, Educational Purpose, No Clinical Advice, and Emergency Situations).
We reserve the right to request proof of eligibility (for example, student or professional status) in relation to any promotional pricing, and to refuse or cancel access where such status cannot be verified.
3. The Services
The Platform currently comprises:
a public-facing website with free informational content;"Knowledge" — a directory of veterinary factsheets, subject to a paywall for full access;
"Skills" — video-based courses, subject to a paywall for full access;
"The Beach Club" — a companion application (beachclub.veterinaryvista.com) offering an interactive, customisable digital space, games, quizzes, a points economy, and the "Vista Shop" for spending points on virtual items.
A single paid subscription is intended to unlock access to all paywalled areas of the Platform, including the Beach Club, unless we state otherwise for a specific product.
We may add, remove, or modify features, courses, factsheets, or areas of the Platform at any time. We will give reasonable notice of any material reduction in the Services available to existing paying subscribers.
During any beta, early-access, or waitlist period, access may be restricted by keycode, invitation, or waitlist, and the Services may be incomplete, contain errors, or change without notice. Section 7 (Beta and Early Access) applies to such access.
4. Accounts and Registration
To access paywalled content you must register for an account on www.veterinaryvista.com. Your account also grants access to the Beach Club application via single sign-on: when you log in to the Beach Club, a secure token issued by our WordPress platform is validated by our Beach Club backend (Supabase) to confirm your identity and subscription status.
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering, and keep it up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at info@veterinaryvista.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
You may not share your account or subscription credentials with any other person, or use the Platform on behalf of, or to provide access for, any third party who has not independently subscribed.
5. Subscriptions, Fees, and Payment
Certain content and features require a paid subscription. Current prices and billing frequency (for example, monthly or annual) are shown at the point of purchase.
Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, who acts as merchant of record for these transactions. Lemon Squeezy uses Stripe's payment infrastructure to process card payments, and also offers PayPal as a checkout option within the Lemon Squeezy checkout flow; these are not separate integrations we maintain ourselves. By subscribing, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's applicable terms. We do not store your full payment card details.
Unless you cancel in accordance with Section 6, subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, and your payment method will be charged automatically. We will give you reasonable advance notice by email of any price increase before it takes effect on renewal, and you may cancel before the renewal date to avoid the new price.
All prices are shown inclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for any taxes not collected by us or Lemon Squeezy that apply in your jurisdiction.
Cancellations and Refunds
6.1 Self-service cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period; you will retain access until then, and we do not charge you again after that point.
6.2 UK/EU 14-day cooling-off right
If you are a consumer subscribing from the UK or EU, you have a statutory right to cancel your subscription within 14 days of purchase (or, for a renewal of a fixed-term contract, within 14 days of that renewal) without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and equivalent EU consumer law.Because our paid content is delivered digitally and immediately, by starting your subscription and accessing any paywalled content you expressly request that we begin providing the Services immediately, and you acknowledge that you may lose your right to cancel once you have accessed paywalled content, to the extent permitted by law.Where the cooling-off right still applies (for example, if you have not accessed paywalled content), contact info@veterinaryvista.com within 14 days for a full refund.
6.3 Customers outside the UK/EU (including the US)
For customers outside the UK/EU, and in addition to Section 6.1, we aim to offer a full refund if you contact us at info@veterinaryvista.com within 14 days of your initial purchase and have not made substantial use of paywalled content. This reflects our commitment to clear disclosure and easy, self-service cancellation consistent with applicable consumer protection law, including the principles behind the U.S. Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act (clear disclosure, informed consent, and a simple cancellation mechanism).
6.4 General
Outside of Sections 6.2 and 6.3, subscription fees already paid are non-refundable, except where required by law or at our discretion.We may cancel or suspend your account and subscription, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms. In such cases you will not be entitled to a refund for the remaining period, except as required by law.
7. Beta and Early Access
Access during any beta or early-access period is provided "as is" and may be withdrawn, reset, or modified at any time, including resetting of progress, points, or The Beach Club data.
Feedback you provide about the beta may be used by us to improve the Platform without obligation or compensation to you, unless separately agreed in writing.
8. Points, The Beach Club, and Vista Shop
Points are earned solely through your use of the Platform (for example, completing quizzes, courses, or other engagement) and cannot be purchased with real money, directly or indirectly. Vista Shop items are fixed and clearly described before you spend points on them — there is no randomised, "mystery," or chance-based element to any purchase.
Points and virtual items are a non-transferable feature of the Services with no monetary value. They cannot be exchanged for cash, gifted, traded, or transferred to another user or account, and cannot be redeemed outside the Platform.
Points and virtual items are licensed to you for use within the Platform only, for as long as your account remains active, and are forfeited if your account is closed, suspended, or terminated, or if the relevant feature is discontinued.
We may adjust the points economy (including balances, earning rates, or Vista Shop pricing) at any time, acting reasonably, and are not liable for any resulting loss of virtual points or items.
Because points can only be earned (never bought) and every Vista Shop purchase is a direct, visible, fixed transaction with no randomised element, this feature is designed to sit outside the scope of virtual-currency/loot-box regulation (e.g. UK Gambling Commission guidance on in-game purchases). Keep it this way if avoiding that regulatory category remains a priority — introducing either real-money point purchases or randomised rewards would reopen the question.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
share, resell, sublicense, or provide unauthorised access to paywalled content or your account;
scrape, copy, systematically download, or redistribute factsheets, course videos, quiz content, or other materials except for your own personal, non-commercial educational use;
attempt to circumvent the keycode, paywall, or access-control systems;
reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Platform, the Beach Club application, or its underlying systems;
upload or transmit any unlawful, defamatory, infringing, or harmful content;
use the Platform in any way that could disable, overburden, or impair it, or interfere with other users' enjoyment of it.
We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of this Section 9.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform, including factsheets, quiz questions, course videos, illustrations, branding (including "Veterinary Vista," "Vista Island," and associated logos), software, and the look and feel of the Platform, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trade mark, and other intellectual property laws.
Certain courses are provided by guest instructors under licence. For example, our "Money for Vets" course is provided under an exclusive licence from its instructor, who retains ownership of their performance, likeness, and written content.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and view Platform content for your own personal educational use. No other rights are granted.
You must not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from any Platform content without our prior written consent.
11. Third Party and Guest Content
Courses and content provided by guest instructors (such as our "Money for Vets" course) reflect the views of that instructor and are provided for general educational purposes only. We are not responsible for the accuracy of guest content beyond our standard editorial review, and guest content does not constitute financial, legal, medical, or professional advice specific to your circumstances.
12. Disclaimers Page
A dedicated Disclaimers page, containing the full text of Sections 13 and 14 below together with any other disclaimers we publish from time to time, is available at www.veterinaryvista.com/disclaimer. A condensed version of the disclaimer in Section 13 is also displayed on public-facing educational content outside the paywall (for example, our example factsheet). The full disclaimers below form part of these Terms regardless of where else they are displayed.
13. Educational Purpose, No Clinical Advice, and Emergency Situations
The Platform, including all factsheets, quizzes, courses, and other content ("Content"), is provided for general veterinary education and revision purposes only. It is not clinical guidance, and using the Platform does not create a veterinarian-client-patient relationship, a professional consultation, or any advisory relationship between you, us, or any instructor.
Not for use in an emergency
If you are dealing with a veterinary or medical emergency involving an animal or a person, do not rely on the Platform. Contact a licensed veterinarian, veterinary emergency service, or emergency services immediately.
No substitute for professional judgment
The Content is not a substitute for formal veterinary training, clinical supervision, accredited qualification, or the professional judgment of a qualified, licensed veterinary professional who has examined the specific patient. Content must never be used as the sole basis for any clinical, diagnostic, prescribing, or treatment decision.
No guarantee of accuracy or currency
Veterinary medicine, drug licensing, and best practice evolve continuously and vary by jurisdiction and species. We take reasonable editorial care, but we do not warrant that Content is complete, accurate, or current, or that it reflects the law, guidance, or licensed indications in your country or region. You are responsible for verifying any information against current, authoritative, jurisdiction-specific sources (for example, your veterinary regulatory body, formulary, or institution) before relying on it in any professional or clinical context.
No exam or outcome guarantees
Where Content is described as supporting exam preparation, CPD, or professional development, this is general study support only. We do not guarantee any exam result, pass rate, accreditation outcome, or career outcome.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we, our directors, employees, and any guest instructor exclude all liability for any loss, injury, or damage, including harm to an animal or reliance-based clinical loss, arising from use of, or reliance on, Platform Content. Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.
14. Financial Education Disclaimer
Financial content on the Platform, including the "Money for Vets" course, is provided for general financial education purposes only and does not constitute regulated financial advice, and does not create an advisory relationship between you and Veterinary Vista, the instructor, or any other party. It does not take into account your individual circumstances, income, debts, or financial goals.
Neither Veterinary Vista nor the course instructor is authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) or any equivalent body to provide financial advice. You should not treat any Content as a recommendation to buy, sell, invest, borrow, or take any specific financial action. Where appropriate, seek advice from an FCA-authorised financial adviser (UK) or an appropriately licensed or registered financial professional in your jurisdiction before making financial decisions.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and the course instructor exclude liability for any financial loss arising from reliance on this Content.
15. Availability and Changes to the Service
We aim to keep the Platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may suspend access for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our reasonable control.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify subscribers of material changes (for example, by email or a notice on the Platform) with reasonable notice before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
16. Termination
You may close your account at any time via account settings or by contacting info@veterinaryvista.com.
We may suspend or terminate your account and access immediately if you materially breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent or unlawful activity, or if required by law.
On termination, your licence to access the Platform ends immediately. Sections 6 (Cancellation/Refunds, to the extent accrued), 8 (forfeiture of points/items), 10 (Intellectual Property), 13 and 14 (Disclaimers), 17 (Limitation of Liability), 18 (Indemnity) and 19 (Governing Law) survive termination.
17. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
Subject to the above, to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, data, or business, arising from your use of the Platform.
Subject to the above, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Services is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) £100.
We provide the Platform "as is" and "as available" and, to the extent permitted by law, exclude all implied warranties.
18. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Platform, except to the extent caused by our breach or negligence.
19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, save that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence may still apply, and you may be entitled to bring proceedings in your local courts.
20. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at info@veterinaryvista.com and we will aim to resolve it promptly.
UK/EU consumers may also be entitled to use an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider or the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform where applicable.
21. General
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation; we will notify you if this happens. You may not transfer your rights without our consent.
We are not liable for any failure to perform due to causes beyond our reasonable control (force majeure).
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookies Policy, and Disclaimers page, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Platform.
Failure to enforce any right under these Terms is not a waiver of that right.
